PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH

The transition to parenthood is often more difficult than we expected it to be. Depression, anxiety, loss of identity, and an overall feeling of imbalance can happen when trying to conceive, during pregnancy, and during the postpartum period. I work with clients during this overwhelming time in life to cope with the ups and downs and to heal from depression, loss, and trauma. Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are treatable with therapy. I'm here to support you. Let's work together to get to where you want to be; happy, connected, and whole.

INFERTILITY

Encountering fertility challenges can bring up unexpected emotions and change how we see ourselves. What we often see in perinatal mental health is a surge in anxiety, which makes sense during a time of many unknowns. Therapy can help you process the complex feelings coming up, cope with anxiety and grief, and find access to inner resources. Therapy can also be a good place to find clarity when faced with a lot of decisions to make. We use the space to prioritize your needs and wellbeing and find ways to support you during a difficult journey.

SUPERVISION/CONSULTATION

I'm an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and provide supervision to graduate students and post grads working towards licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists. I see supervisees in South Carolina. I also provide consultation to any type of clinician who wants to learn more about treating clients with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs).  My passion is training therapists in a systemic approach to treating PMADs with an emphasis on on self of the therapist growth.
